The Eastern Ghats is a biodiversity hotspot that contains an extraordinary diversity of species including rare, threatened and endemic species found nowhere else in the world. Despite the richness, it is very poorly studied and understood. Our work in the different hill ranges of the Eastern Ghats of Salem involves understanding the bird ecology, conducting periodic surveys and community engagement which are essential for conservation.
